Description
A fisheye view of Chicago's beautiful Regal Theatre. It opened as the Avalon theatre in 1927. The Moorish Revivalist architecture was designed by John Eberson. Eberson was known for his exotic motifs. The Avalon Thetre closed in the late 70's. It reopened as the New Regal theatre in 1987. it quickly became a popular venue for African-American entertainers. I worked on the Stellar awards in the late 80's. It closed again in 2003. It s bought another group of investors that are hoping to return it to its former glory.
